Travertine Navona
Roman travertine navona is the Italian travertine par excellence, with a light ivory color background and characteristic light veins with small and rather closed pores. The navona is a Roman travertine ideal for both internal coatings, with polished and smooth finishes, but also excellent for exteriors with grouting, brushing and bush-hammering treatments. The possibility of cutting it into the pitch and counter pitch enhances some of its peculiarities:
-
Navona travertine, if cut parallel to the brim, shows a cloudy effect with tone-on-tone nuances and a much more compact appearance.
-
Navona travertine, if cut counter-pitch (therefore orthogonally), makes the slightly darker veins visible, highlighting the homogeneity, compatibility and structure of the Navona travertine itself.
The high porosity of the Roman Travertine Navona highlights the uniqueness of the natural stone recalling the classical and baroque architecture of Rome. It can be grouted with cement, mastic and / or transparent resin and then brushed, sanded or polished. The Roman Travertine Navona could be defined as the most chameleon-like Roman travertine of all, in fact it can be a Navona or modern travertine, suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. Extracted from the travertine caves of Tivoli and Guidonia, it appears compact and uniform. The Roman travertine navona can be made with different types of finishes: it can create polished navona travertine, polished navona travertine, brushed navona travertine, bush-hammered navona travertine, navona travertine with resin grouting and mastic.
